Pisgah Ranger District Road Rehabilitation
Pisgah National Forest – North Carolina


 CMB Services is actively pursuing roadway rehabilitation and infrastructure improvements supporting Hurricane Helene recovery efforts throughout the Pisgah Ranger District. The project encompasses roadway reconditioning, aggregate surface replacement, drainage and culvert rehabilitation, erosion control measures, slide repair operations, vegetation management, traffic control, and environmental protection activities across multiple National Forest Service Roads. Work is performed in accordance with FHWA FP-24 standards and U.S. Forest Service Supplemental Specifications for transportation infrastructure within environmentally sensitive forest lands.

Grandfather Ranger District Road Rehabilitation
Pisgah National Forest – North Carolina


 CMB Services is pursuing transportation infrastructure rehabilitation supporting emergency access, utility service routes, communications facilities, and residential access throughout the Grandfather Ranger District. Scope includes roadway, ditch and culvert reconditioning, aggregate roadway restoration, slope stabilization, reinforced riprap reconstruction, vegetation management, drainage improvements, and erosion mitigation measures across multiple forest transportation corridors affected by Hurricane Helene. Project delivery requires compliance with FHWA FP-24 roadway standards, environmental protection requirements, and federal quality control procedures.

University of South Carolina
Upstate-MRR-Soccer Lighting Upgrades


CMB Services is pursuing the University of South Carolina Upstate Soccer Field Lighting Upgrades project. The project consists of a complete modernization of the existing soccer field lighting system, replacing aging infrastructure with a new Musco sports lighting system designed to meet current NCAA intercollegiate lighting standards. 

The work includes demolition of the existing four-pole lighting system, removal of obsolete controls and electrical equipment, installation of four new 80-foot galvanized steel lighting poles with engineered concrete foundations, installation of new underground electrical distribution, and integration of a new Musco lighting control and monitoring system. Existing LED fixtures will be salvaged and reinstalled where specified, while new RGBW color-changing fixtures will be added to enhance field illumination and event capabilities. 

The project also includes new transformers, disconnects, communications equipment, touchscreen controls within the press box, underground conduit extensions, electrical upgrades, testing, commissioning, and restoration of disturbed site areas following construction. Structural engineering is required for the design and certification of the new pole foundations and support structures.

Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College
HVAC Chilled Water Systems and Controls Upgrades


CMB Services is pursuing the HVAC Chilled Water Systems and Controls Upgrades project at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The project consists of a comprehensive modernization of the campus chilled water infrastructure serving multiple academic buildings through the replacement and upgrade of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems. 

The work includes demolition of existing chillers, pumps, associated piping, electrical equipment, and controls, followed by installation of two new 130-ton air-cooled chillers, a new chilled water pump package with variable frequency drives, upgraded chilled water distribution piping, new isolation and control valves, structural concrete equipment pads, and integration of a new building automation and controls system. Existing campus chilled water distribution will be modified to improve system reliability, efficiency, and operational control while maintaining service to campus facilities. 

Additional work includes electrical service modifications, power distribution upgrades, new feeders and disconnects, instrumentation, controls integration, testing and balancing, startup, commissioning, and coordination of phased construction to minimize disruption to campus operations. The project requires close coordination between mechanical, electrical, controls, and civil trades while working within an active educational campus environment.

Dept. of Administration - Division of Facilities Management & Property Services
Replace CRAC Units 3, 7, 8, and 9


CMB Services is pursuing the South Carolina Data Center Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) Replacement project for the South Carolina Department of Administration. The project consists of replacing four existing chilled-water computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units serving the State Data Center's mission-critical computer operations environment while maintaining the reliability and continuous operation of the facility's existing cooling infrastructure. 

The project includes demolition and replacement of CRAC Units 3, 7, 8, and 9 with new high-efficiency chilled-water computer room air conditioning units, installation of new chilled water supply and return piping, reconnection of condensate drainage systems, replacement of instrumentation and controls, integration into the existing Building Automation Control System (BACS), and reconnection of electrical power by a licensed electrician. Existing chilled water piping serving each unit will be removed back to the isolation valves and replaced with new piping and associated accessories. New factory support stands will be installed where required, with reuse of existing stands permitted if field conditions allow. 

Because the work will occur within an active Tier IV state data center, construction will require careful phasing, coordination with facility personnel, and strict control of outages to protect continuous operation of critical IT infrastructure. Pre-demolition chilled water flow testing, system commissioning, controls verification, and startup activities are integral components of the project to ensure uninterrupted environmental control for the computer operations space.

Newberry County
Gallman Place Renovation
 


CMB Services is pursuing the Newberry County Gallman Place Renovation project, which will transform approximately 12,000 square feet of an existing 50,000-square-foot former high school into a modern community center supporting educational, community, and public services. The renovation includes architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and accessibility improvements while maintaining and repurposing the existing facility. 

The project includes renovation of classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, kitchen, cafeteria, and support spaces to meet current building codes and ADA accessibility requirements. Major building upgrades include new electrical panelboards, replacement and modernization of lighting systems, HVAC upgrades with new wall-mounted units, fire alarm and life safety improvements, restroom accessibility renovations, and infrastructure improvements to support future kitchen equipment installation. 

Site improvements include construction of accessible parking and pedestrian access, ADA-compliant sidewalks and ramps, new handrails, water service and fire line improvements, utility modifications, grading, pavement restoration, and associated civil work. Several bid alternates provide options for kitchen equipment installation, water service relocation, expanded ADA parking improvements, and upgraded interior floor finishes throughout the facility. 

The project requires significant coordination across multiple trades within an occupied public facility, with phased construction, careful sequencing of MEP systems, and integration of new building systems into the existing structure. Successful execution will depend on close coordination among architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection subcontractors while minimizing disruption to ongoing county operations.

Town of Carlisle
Cox Creek/Westwood Sewer Upgrades

 

 CMB Services is pursuing the Cox Creek / Westwood Sewer Upgrades project for the Town of Carlisle, a municipal infrastructure improvement designed to modernize aging gravity sewer systems throughout several service areas of the town. The project includes replacement and rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewer mains serving the Westwood neighborhood, Cox Creek corridor, PS #1 Road, and the Pump Station #4 service area. 

Work consists primarily of installing new gravity sewer mains, replacing deteriorated pipe, reconnecting existing service laterals, constructing new manholes, adjusting existing structures, restoring disturbed pavement and rights-of-way, implementing erosion and sediment control measures, and coordinating utility crossings while maintaining uninterrupted wastewater service to residents throughout construction. 

Construction will require significant excavation within public rights-of-way, traffic control, bypass pumping where necessary, utility coordination, dewatering, trench safety, surface restoration, and environmental compliance. The project also includes abandonment or removal of selected existing sewer infrastructure once new systems are operational. 

Successful delivery will require close coordination among civil utility contractors, trucking, erosion control, asphalt restoration, surveying, testing, and municipal utility stakeholders to minimize disruption while improving the long-term reliability and capacity of Carlisle's wastewater collection system.

Richland County Recreation Commission
Grease Trap Replacement
 


CMB Services is pursuing the Richland County Recreation Center Grease Trap Installation project in Columbia, South Carolina. The project consists of replacing the existing kitchen grease management system with a new underground 5,000-gallon grease trap and associated sanitary sewer improvements to improve the facility's wastewater system and ensure compliance with current plumbing and environmental standards. 

The scope includes selective demolition of the existing grease trap and underground piping, installation of a new precast grease interceptor, new sanitary sewer piping, cleanouts, floor sinks, grease waste piping, pavement removal and replacement, excavation, backfill, erosion control, and complete restoration of disturbed surfaces. Interior plumbing modifications within the commercial kitchen will reconnect existing fixtures while maintaining proper grease waste separation and drainage. 

In addition to the underground utility work, the project includes replacement of approximately 766 square feet of existing floor tile and tile base within the affected area following completion of plumbing work, requiring coordination between civil, plumbing, and finish trades to minimize disruption to facility operations. 

Successful completion will require careful utility coordination, excavation around existing infrastructure, plumbing tie-ins, pavement restoration, interior finish work, and adherence to local building, plumbing, and environmental regulations while maintaining a safe work environment at the active recreation center.

Shaw AFB
Fire Hydrant Replacement and Water Distribution Improvements


CMB Services is pursuing the Fire Hydrant Replacement and Water Distribution Improvements project at Shaw Air Force Base. The project consists of replacing deteriorated fire hydrants throughout the installation and upgrading portions of the base water distribution system to improve fire protection reliability, operational readiness, and maintainability. 

The scope includes demolition and replacement of 29 existing fire hydrants, installation of new left-turn-open fire hydrants, new isolation gate valves, thrust blocks, valve boxes with concrete collars, and approximately 400 linear feet of new 6-inch ductile iron water main for bidding purposes. The project also requires fire hydrant flow testing, system restoration, and preparation of complete as-built documentation upon completion. 

Construction will require excavation around existing underground utilities, water main tie-ins, valve replacements, and phased work across multiple locations throughout the installation. Portions of the work include asbestos cement waterline abatement, installation of new isolation valves where none currently exist, coordination of utility outages, permitting through the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), and compliance with Shaw Air Force Base design standards and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC). 

Successful execution will require close coordination between utility, civil, environmental, and testing subcontractors while minimizing impacts to base operations and maintaining uninterrupted fire protection services throughout the construction period. The project is scheduled with a 30-day mobilization period, 90 days of construction, and a 21-day closeout phase for a total contract duration of approximately 111 calendar days.
